Marcus Aldred-Traynor Penny as a catalyst
It is my belief that as a result of the post-modern age of thinking and creation, artworks have become less based on emotion and true expression and are rather based on a pessimistic challenging of the past. When proposing something new that moves past post-modern ideals, I was left with an answer to what is one meaning of life. However cliched this was, it led me to many realisations about pure artistic expression in a world that doesn’t seek to find the answers to life anymore. The result? We are carried back to the emotional, fortuitous splashing of Jackson Pollock. This is how we must create.
