Jayson Fong Human secrecy and the casual watcher
Reflecting on the city experience of people walking by, the constant motion, quick glances and the memory of hazy silhouettes, my work looks at the notion of identity – or lack of it – in the urban environment. The figures are identifiable as people, but their details, their personalities and their lives are inaccessible in my work: we see only the surface, a recognisable human form without identity, a vague impression blurred in movement against a city backdrop.
