Tal Chodos Persons of perception; avoid things coloured red; one and five pencils; a bunch of paintings containing lessons for the future
My artwork is a critique of the world of contemporary art. My interest in postmodern theories concern the art object and the practices of conceptual artists such as Danto and Kosuth who privilege the idea over the aesthetic. I have followed the practice of Duchamp, where the work is transformed in the mind of the audience into an art object. The slippage of perception and intent between the art and the ordinary object is my comment on the contemporary art world, where something other than the eye is demanded.
