Elly Carantinos My only enemy is time

At the centre of human experience there is a constant struggle between forces of growth and decay. The human subject is necessarily caught in a grand temporal scheme beyond its means of control or full comprehension. Witnessing my grandfather’s more acute experience with the mental and physical processes of ageing motivated me to explore the function of this essential dynamic and capture both the personal and universal effects of time on the individual. The film combines documentary style with abstract symbolism to aesthetically transcend the boundaries of time in order to reveal both its violent and formative nature.
