William Canning Between here and somewhere else
The issues and ideas that I explored through the creation of my work relate to human perception of and interaction with the natural world. Travel and an interest in photography led me to explore these concepts as a way of sharing my own experiences with others. I used 120mm black-and-white film, a process which bears a romantic quality in itself and is ideal for capturing such traditional natural beauty. I have treated the natural world as a representation of human experience that can be found within the environment.
