Jake Lobarbio Shed the chrysalis

My artwork has given me the opportunity to express the way I really feel inside. I’m born into a male’s body, but I’ve always felt I wasn’t being who I really am. My work gave me the courage to stop hiding behind expectations of society, shake off the person I pretend to be and reveal who I am. I created five portraits of my self, which in itself is confronting, but a necessary way of being true to who I really am.
