Artists can shape and determine how we look at and interpret nature, by paying close attention to a myriad of shapes and patterns influenced by natural forms. My body of work explores this notion through the dissection and discovery of various colours and shapes recorded through photography. These ideas create a connection between geometry and surrealism. Each piece represents a different time and place, and has an allegorical meaning and connection to the Australian landscape. A quote from Luis Dourado inspired my practice: ‘I think these techniques also relate a lot to the idea of illusions, to create a new truth, a new parallel reality’.
