Elke Leamon Inter-impression

My body of work uses the modernist painting styles of impressionism and post-impressionist pointillism. These art styles were primarily focused on lighting and colour. By using layers of acrylic I introduce light and space between the sheets, giving the works depth while staying within the modernist styles. Throughout the work I use the common theme of water and boats to represent both present-day landscapes and modernist paintings. The wood for the base is an authentic material used in boat making.
