My body of work is a critique of society, referencing the Time’s Up movement. The work represents a range of women of various ethnicities and occupations to draw attention to systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace. The strong direct gazes of the women in the coloured images (the ‘now’) are juxtaposed against the more passive gazes of the women in the smaller black-and-white ID cards (‘the past’). My work advocates for the evolving campaign through its symbolic use of the women’s black uniforms and whistles with subtle text, conveying a sense of solidarity and the need for action.
