Leila Khazma Ephemeral Earth
Derived from the earth, the supple qualities of clay yield an innate sense of serenity. Aligning my practice with the principles of sustainability, each vessel of clay was destroyed, then soaked to be used and manipulated into something once more. Inherently recognisable as coming from the variable surface of the earth, my hand-built and wheel-thrown forms represent the beauty in the raw and unadorned, with my emphasis on process and documentation underpinning their idealistic forms.
