Anna Le Histrionically me
My body of work explores the adolescents on the cusp of adulthood as they search for identity. Inspired by Jan Nelson's works, I used a cascade of colour, excessive props and searching expressions for the two figures to represent ideas of sport, recreation and celebration. Elements of nostalgia and modern popular culture express the joy sparked by aspects of childhood. The title references Tim Storrier's The histrionic wayfarer (after Bosch) – a dramatic self-portrait of a subject carrying a comically excessive collection of items that guide their way.
