Benjamin Stubbs-Goulston Somewhere, nowhere
My body of work, Somewhere, nowhere, represents the innately human aim of progression and ascension in our lives, and its direct collision with the reality that it may not be possible, even if it is our goal. I used the ladder to represent this exploration of what progression means and looks like, taking my main inspiration from Joseph Kosuth's work, One and three chairs. I used this work to further interrogate how forms can symbolise many things and have multiple representations and meanings.
