Original building updates

A key aspect of the Art Gallery of New South Wales' Sydney Modern Project has been the revitalisation of our historic building. The program of works, now complete, has restored original architectural features, provided more space for art display and research, enhanced the visitor experience, and supported sustainable operations.

The Capon Research Library and National Art Archive has relocated to a new purpose-built, expanded facility within the building that is fully accessible to the public. The Art Gallery Society of NSW Members Lounge on lower level 3 of the existing building has also been expanded and refurnished as part of these works.
