Performance: Eddie Muliaumaseali'I Matisse: Life & Spirit

Arriving with warmth and presence, renowned operatic bass baritone Eddie Muliaumaseali'I brings it from the heart and fills the soul of our very own evocation of the Chapel of the Rosary in Vence in the exhibition Matisse: Life & Spirit, Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou, Paris.

Muliaumaseali'I frames the famed setting with an emotional and stirring rendition of Chanson épique from Maurice Ravel’s Don Quichotte à Dulcinée (1931 – 1932), a pivotal song cycle originally composed for piano and baritone.

Moving through the soaring space, Muliaumaseali'I shifts into the personal with Lo Ta Nu’u, a traditional Samoan piece. Here, a single voice is the voice of many – full of volume, power and strength. Ringing through the Art Gallery, this musical performance is timely and timeless, gracing the air and the art on the walls.
