About
Art centre documentation for this work states:
"We went camping with my cousin Joyce and my husband Kramer. Me and my husband we took one of my little girls with me, my son was at school at Kulpurilya Outstation. We went to the camping area near Alknagarintja and Ltaarlartuma Outstations. We went for picnic, maybe two nights on the weekend. We were sitting round the fire waiting for the water to boil for cup of tea. We took damper and all! Meat, milk and cool drink, everything nice! Tin-a-meat - corned beef. We would get meat from the old shop in Ntaria.
We would talk a-lot of story about Country. They been tell me "Your Country other-side from here! East from Papunya." My Country is Mt Zeil. There is lots of bush there.
We would go camping here from Ntaria, before the outstations were built. I was living in a humpy house in Ntaria back then. My cousin would ask me to go camping with them out on Country.
The old people they asked houses to get built on Country. Mildred's brother been ask to stay out there. Then Alknagarintja and Ltaalartuma Outstations were built.
The young people would come from the two outstations to this camping area to meet, they would get married. It was a love story. "Oh that's a nice person I might marry that one".
When we were camping we would always talk about love and funny stories. I love being on Country talking story."
