  • About

Court 9 was completed in 1899. Initially, steps descended from Vernon's courts into the lower basement galleries constructed by Horbury Hunt in 1885. However, between 1902-4 the floor was raised so that Vernon's courts flowed into a main entrance hall on the same level. After this time, the staircases to the basement courts descended from this entrance hall.
